Fun little game
Pretty fun, and I like the simple graphics, animation, and retro music.
For some reason, the 3000 points medal doesn't seem to work. I achieved more than 3000 points twice, and it still didn't work.

Lovely! ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE for those who want it
Fantastic fun. I love the graphics and the music. It's a strange gameplay mechanic, all this kitty throwing, but I like it! I think it is a little annoying using the kitty early on, but the psionic whistle upgrade made it much more fun. Perhaps this upgrade could be made available earlier in the game?
Thanks very much, I loved this.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Robot Got Puppy = Beat the game. Take your time, kill everything that's in your way, get all the upgrades you can, and go back and forth over the entire map collecting keys to unlock doors. Once you get key 9, you can go back to the puppy (near beginning of the map), open his door, and collect him.
Rocket Robot = Beat game in under 20 minutes. Hint: Play several times to get really familiar with the map and how it all fits together, and note as well the enemy positions and behaviours. Avoid enemies that are not in the way, avoid extra razor claw powerups that don't help your progress, and use the death/rebirth to your advantage in covering distances. e.g. make your way to a key, collect it, then kill yourself to teleport back to the last checkpoint instead of running all the way back.
Cat scratch fever = Get all 10 razor claw powerups.
Calamari is served = Beat Hoverzorg (boss). Throw kitty through the hole in Hoverzorg's defences several times, until he is beaten.
Cat and mouse = Beat Blocko (boss). Throw kitty at a stalac (ceiling enemy) to make it fall on Blocko. After a few goes, the armour will be destroyed, and you can throw kitty at the little mouse who was controlling the robot from inside.
Bad Robot = Beat 100 enemies.
Rebound = Throw the kitty at a wall and catch it again in mid-air.
Look out below = Knock down a stalac (ceiling enemy) so that it falls on another enemy (besides Blocko, who is a boss you defeat this way).
The Friendly Robot = Beat fewer than 40 enemies and win the game. This is quite hard, but take your time, and try dodging enemies and their fire instead of killing them. You may also throw kitty at an enemy to make them run away and fall off a cliff, but then kill yourself or use the psionic whistle to get your kitty back without killing the enemy.
Sekrit = For this, make sure you have the helicopter upgrade. On the left of the 5 door, there is an electricity barrier across the floor. Above the electricity barrier is a three-square long floating platform. In the middle of the electricity barrier, you will see that part it that isn't moving like the others. It is fake and won't hurt you. Drop through that area, and make your way through the maze-like area to the left. You will come to a green area. There is a save point here, and there will be more electricity barriers. Now use the helicopter upgrade (jump once and hold the jump button) to fly upwards through the electricity barriers, each of which has a fake part to it that doesn't move. There are a few barriers, so be careful, and keep pressing and releasing the jump button to keep yourself hovering safely. Get to the top, and collect the secret item.
Fun web RTS! But there are small problems
I like the achievements, the heroes, and the meteor spells. Destroying the houses and garrisons was pretty satisfying! The resurrecting powers of the Banshee and the zombie infection were also fun elements.
There's a problem with the massacre achievements. On many of the later levels (from third land area onwards) it is impossible to complete the massacre achievements, because the towns run out of people. Even when every building is left standing, the whole population dries up way before you can get the achievement. There doesn't appear to be a way of stopping this from happening, so I think there must be a programming error.
The last level won't let you save after you've completed it, so each time you complete it, and load your game again, it's as if you didn't play the level at all. Please fix this.
I feel like there should be a "deselect troops" option, so that I'm not sending my troops in the direction of where I've just decided to cast a spell, or so I can send just a portion of my troops, not all of them. The only way to deselect my troops was actually clicking the "spell" button, but if you're already on the spell screen, a user wouldn't think to do that.
Last thing, when you're upgrading the meteor spell, the area of influence grows larger, but since each meteor comes one after the other and land in random spots around the area of influence, this has the effect of making the spell less accurate, which is the exact opposite of what should be happening when you upgrade it.
Thanks for a fun game, and I hope these few problems can be fixed in further versions or sequels that might be made.
Wow, what a fun challenge!
The medals were quite difficult to achieve, and the boss was hard to figure out. It was very fun, and it wasn't too annoying to keep trying, especially with the reset button which made losses over quickly, so we could try again straight away.
I think my only criticism would be the slight lag that can come with having several plumbers at a time, but perhaps that can't be helped. It's not a big deal anyway.
Multiple issues, seemingly unplayable
The concept seems interesting, and I liked where it was going, but I wasn't able to continue in the game because once the health bar was introduced, everything became bogged down in unplayable lagging, even on the lowest graphic setting. I couldn't see where I was going, and it made platform jumping and avoiding enemies impossible.
There are no checkpoints or save points, so I tried over and over, going through the same four levels I had gone through before, just to find that I kept getting stuck with the lagging health bar.
I like that for the most part you've kept native accents for the characters, but I found the acting to be not quite good enough, with little apparent empathy for what the characters would be feeling. e.g. The main character was laughing as he was talking to the guy who came back from the dead, as if his incineration was funny, or that his apparent resurrection was funny. It was pretty jarring. If you want humour in the situation, I think deadpan black humour is more appropriate.
The crusher area produces so much lag I was unable to properly see the crushing, and crawling back towards the lift got me stuck.
Don't give up, I'd like to see this game again some day with all the improvements it needs. I think it would be worth working on it more.
me like character animations and backgrounds
Character animations are good and fluid, and the backgrounds are nice. I like the rainy, misty atsmophere, and the sound. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Some more puzzles would be an improvement, but I liked what was there with the wings and the bridge switches.
It was a little annoying that you couldn't kill the evil things without the energy from the stones, even though it was possible through careful planning to kill them all.
I like this game, but the medals aren't working, and it's making me cry.
:(
Don't waste time to see the ending! I'll tell you
Just plain annoying. If someone's reading this wondering if they should bother playing it, it is a standard side-scrolling platformer, like Mario, only less fun because you have to reload the browser window every time you die.
HOW "FREE WILL" ENDS:
Your character gets to the end of the level, and meets a similar-looking character, only he is wearing glasses. You say "Hi Will" and he says "Hi. Thanks for freeing me". Roll credits.
Fun to figure out, and gorgeous graphics and sound
I love the atmosphere of these Reemus games, and all the interesting creatures and plants that become tools! I sometimes feel like I could be challenged a little more, though. The coloured liquid puzzle was quite easy to figure out.
I should confirm the bug that some other people are also finding: I get stuck next to the pool in the gelatin cave. Doesn't matter who stands over there, the game refuses to let me select anything else, including the change-character button. I hope you've got enough information to fix it.
Thanks and keep up the good work!
Good graphics and gameplay, needs a satisfying end
The use of silhouettes and muted colours is effective for invoking an atmosphere of dust and death, and the sound work is suitable.
The gameplay is a little basic, but it is fun, and easy to pick up as you go. Unfortunately, as many players have found, there is a surefire strategy of heaping all of the money on tanks, attack helicopters, and artillery fire that ensures victory over and over again without detriment to the player's health.
This results in a game that becomes too easy, and essentially infinite, with no feeling of progress as the enemy hopelessly crashes itself upon the player's unstoppable forces.
What this game really needs is a satisfying conclusion/goal that players can reach. Right now, the game goes on until the player dies, with many quitting in frustration because that event seems to be far off. The inclusion of an enemy base than can be destroyed by the player's forces crossing to the other side of the battle field would change the object of gameplay dramatically.
I would also suggest giving the player less money to start off with, no money rewards for the player's units reaching the end of the battle field, and smaller money rewards for killing the enemy.
In conclusion, the game is far too easy, and needs recognisable achievements for the player to reach.
People think this is a useless review!
