THIS GAME IS THE BOMB

And by "the bomb", I mean it is a really fun game, not some kind of explosive. That would be silly and probably inaccurate.

What ISN'T in this game?

A rich RPG world, beautiful pixel graphics, hilarious conversations, entertaining platforming, lots of items to collect, quests to complete, secrets to find, achievements to achieve, and several ending sequences depending on your performance.

If you are looking for SEVERAL HOURS of great fun, this is the game.

Really frustrating, mining doesn't work

It's hard to review the gameplay, as I'm not really able to play it. There seems to be something wrong with the units' ability to recognise obstacles and make their path around them. For this reason, the mining is broken. It's incredibly frustrating, with the mining units constantly stopping because they're unable to unload their crystals, or unable to start mining the crystal deposit. They just stand there, stuck on the edge of the base or crystal deposit. Whether or not the mining units eventually do their job is entirely up to chance, and without supervision they completely break down. This seems like a pretty basic problem that should have been fixed before it was uploaded.

Hmm, the book's better

I was hoping for the game to be more Noahish. When I think Noah, I think huge friggin' flood, huge friggin' ark, and a lot of friggin' animals. This had a man kicking sheep, which is great, but it's not Noah.

But whatever. I like a good simple game where you get to commit violence against innocent animals, and have a great booming voice egg you on.

You know, we wanted to make a game very Noahish but we was running out of time (was made for a 48 hours competition) so we thought "well, we have a noah sprite and a sheep sprite, let's make something different!".
Thank you for the review :)

Nice fun little game that's all about level design

Simple controls, and interesting levels. I look forward to coming back and finishing this baby off.

Don't mind the whining little babies who say a game is "impossible" when it gets hard. This is great fun.

Fun enough game, but literally nauseating

Fun gameplay, nice graphics, and the music was pretty fun. Did you make the music too?

On the levels where the camera follows you up and down (i.e. the vertical levels) the camera movement made me feel sick and I had to stop playing.

I think the controls could do with a bit of a tweaking. The robot wasn't going left and right as fast as I was pressing the arrow keys, which was pretty frustrating when it came to quickly manoeuvring through a maze of spikes.

Incredibly glitchy, unplayable

Lots of lag. I don't know what's doing it, but it ruins the game.

Many times I got stuck inside blocks, went through blocks, went through walls, went straight through an arrow or key without activating it.

And then there's the mini-games... ugh. I'd be hitting the arrow keys, or clicking the mouse for ages before the game would react.

In the spot the difference games, I'd click directly on the difference, and it would not react until I had found the exact 1 pixel that you needed to hit. It wouldn't give me the point, or take one of my lives away. So on some level, the game knew I was trying to click the right thing... but why not just give me the point instead of merely saving me from losing a life? Pointless.

Graphics are okay, but the shading is too fuzzy.

I like the cutscene art, that was really nice and stylish.

I love the previous Shift games. This one looks like fun, but the glitches make it incredibly frustrating.

I would give this game a 7/10 if it weren't for the bugs.

Hello, my name is DAVID

Really nice game. The scary places level was the most annoying level of all time. Absolutely no forgiveness. One pixel wrong, and DEAD. But it's beaten, SO THERE! I am never doing that level again.

But I did like this game. I think you should make it so the game saves checkpoints for later, and not just save at the beginning of the level. It's quite infuriating having to finish the longer levels completely in one sitting.

By the way, I got everything. Do I win a prize? 'Cause I really want a prize for all the time and effort I poured into this crazy game.

Droqen responds:

A level is more than the sum of its parts!
My congratulations go out to you, as well.

---> I can access Fishbane's save file from other flash files ;D so just you wait...

Lovely, but needs some work

The graphics are gorgeous, and the characters are cute :) The music is fun and fitting.

I like the tandem play, although I feel like things could have moved quicker. The characters move pretty slowly, so I think they need to be sped up. The option to move both characters at the same time (e.g. move one with the arrow keys, the other with the aswd keys) would also liven things up a bit, since you won't have to go back and forth all the time.

I would also like to see more challenging puzzles, as each level seemed to be very straightforward and didn't require much thinking.

Kinda fun, until the controls get buggy

This is a pretty standard shoot-em-up for the most part, with some nice art. Not bad, but it's not particularly interesting either. It could have done with some more interesting weapons and different kinds of weapon damage e.g. swords cutting people in half, acid guns melting off flesh, hand-to-hand combos... what we have instead is a pretty boring and basic weapon set.

Besides not being a very interesting game, there is a far more serious problem that makes it almost unplayable. Several times, my controls just plain stopped working. I'd try to make him jump, the character would stand there and take several bullets while constantly wasting ammo in no direction in particular. Right after that he'd start walking around, continuously change his aiming direction, and jump randomly without any keyboard input at all. These episodes of non-control would usually last until the wave was over. Pretty frustrating!

Awful, and stolen artwork

This game is awful to play. The controls are bizarre and counter-intuitive, the action is boring, the first mission is boring and takes too long to do, the graphics are poor, and the only good art I saw was at the title screen, and that art was STOLEN from Patrick Brown.

I've notified Patrick Brown. You better hope he doesn't care too much about people ripping him off.
